St. Timothy’s, a team with just one win in IAAM C Conference soccer thus far this season, nearly handed first-place Chapelgate Christian its first league loss, beofre the Yellowjackets escaped with a 1-0 overtime victory on Wednesday.
Chapelgate’s Emily Marquina, with an assist from Lydia Frierson, knocked home the winning goal.
In claiming the shutout, Andelyn Smith stopped 12 shots for the Yellowjackets (5-1-2, 4-0-1). St. Tim’s fell to 1-4 overall and 1-4 in the league.
