Key scores 13 to 10-run Concordia

Key School erupted for seven runs in the top of sixth inning of its MIAA C Conference baseball league opener, Tuesday, and defeated host Concordia Prep in six innings, 13-3, in Towson, in six innings.

Armand Ortiz went 3-for4 with a home run, double, and three RBI to lead the Obezags (2-2 overall, 1-0 MIAA C).

Colin MacNabb went 3-for-3 with 2 RBI and Chris Williams went 1-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBI as Key defeated the reigning C Conference champions in Concordia’s season-opener.

Ortiz also shined on the bump, pitching 5 innings, striking out 6 and allowing 2 earned runs. Will Dowton struck out 2 in one scoreless inning.

Braden Hofstetter and Patrik Simons each had two hits for Concordia and Hofstetter drove in two runs.  Jackson Pflug has knocked in a run for the Saints with a pinch hit triple.
