Dons bounce back from loss at MSJ
After seeing its recent seven-game win streak snapped at Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, No. 8 Loyola got a big bounce back win on Friday, going on the road and thumping rival Calvert Hall, 69-37, in MIAA A Conference/Baltimore Catholic League action.
The games was competitive for a half, as Loyola led 23-17 at the intermission. The Dons (13-5), however, went on a run at the beginning of the second half to take a commanding lead, outscoring Calvert Hall 27-11 in the third quarter and 19-9 in the fourth quarter.
Loyola’s Mitch Fischer led all scorers with 18 points, Cam Smith added 17 and Jordan Moore chipped in 11. Ten Dons scored in the win. Olu Olaniran led Calvert Hall (4-13) with eight points.
