Two day earlier Loyola jumped out to a seeming insurmountable first half 3-0 lead on Calvert Hall, only to see the arch-rivals rally to sting them with a 4-3 loss in overtime. Thursday, the Dons were in no mood for a repeat performance as they parlayed three first half goals into a 7-2 rout of visiting John Carroll, in a MIAA A Conference soccer match at Blakefield.
John Jlopleh led a balanced Loyola attack with two goals and one assist and Jamie Dubyoski also scored twice.
In all, the Dons got points from seven different players.
Ian Peacock had a three point game with a goal and two assists, Sam Tutino and Andrew Rueling each added one goal and one assist, while Michael DeGraffenreidt and Michael Distler both added an assist.
The Dons also had strong contributions from Jeremy DeGraffenreidt, Tony Butta, Joe Taylor, Kevin Carter and Elliott Andelman. Mike Hackett and Charlie Walker were solid in the net.
Zach Hammons and Joe Otenasek scored for the Patriots.
