Loyola gets a leg up on Curley

Because of an earlier weather postponement, No. 12 Loyola and No. 18 Archbishop Curley had to wait until the final week of the regular season to see each other for the first time in MIAA A Conference soccer.  That meeting took place on Friday at Blakefield and the host Dons claimed a 1-0 victory to break a fifth-place tie with the Friars.

The game’s only score came in the second half when Elliott Andelman assisted Mike Distler.

The two teams will meet again on Tuesday at Curley.  A win or tie would provide Loyola with the fifth seed.  A Curley win would deadlock the teams once again, with each having one final game to play.
