As expected, the MIAA A Conference lacrosse race is wide open in 2011 and, despite an 0-4 start, Loyola Blakefield is still in the thick of the conference chase following a 9-5 road victory over Gilman on Tuesday.

Deemer Class scored four goals and dished out a pair of assists to lead the Dons, who improved to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the league.

Devin McNamara supported Class with a goal and two assists and the Dons got single goals from Alec Dauses, Mike Distler, Adam Smith and Matt Dunn.

Max Greene paced Gilman with three goals and an assist.  In addition, Justin George scored two points with a goal and an assist and Ryan Tucker netted one goal for the Greyhounds.
