Outlook: No. 10 Spalding (1-2) completes its run of MIAA A programs. The Cavaliers were drilled by No. 1 Gilman School in their opener, 41-14 before falling in a four-overtime thriller to No. 3 Calvert Hall College at the I-95 Kickoff Classic the next week.

The defending MIAA B champs opened league play with a 47-30 decision over John Carroll last weekend. Senior running back KK Smith rushed for 237 yards and four touchdowns, including scoring runs of 63 and 78 yards. Donnie Abey threw for a pair of touchdowns.

No. 6 Loyola (1-1) rebounded from its season opening loss to state and national power DeMatha Catholic with a 56-33 romp of Fork Union (VA) Military Academy. The Towson school rolled up 49 first half points as senior quarterback Mike Fafaul ran for a 75-yard touchdown run on the opening play from scrimmage and threw scoring passes to Jordan Floyd and Deemer Class.

The Dons last played Spalding in their historic 11-0 run in 2008, winning 39-9 at home. Terrence Garvin (West Virginia) rushed for four scores and caught a 51-yard touchdown pass from Leon Kinnard (UCONN).
