Alexis Briscoe scored 17 points and pulled down four rebounds, and Olivia Callan added 16 points and four rebounds, leading Long Reach High to a 54-32 victory over Hammond in a Howard County girls’ basketball contest Friday. The Lightning (5-10 overall, 3-9 Howard) outscored Hammond, 12-3, in the second quarter to take a commanding 31-13 at halftime.
Callan finished with a game-high seven steals, and Imani Sanders had 11 points, five steals and three steals. Shannon Bwa led Hammond (2-13, 0-12 Howard) with nine points.
Long Reach travels to Wilde Lake Wednesday afternoon in league action. Hammond heads to league-leading and No. 6 Glenelg Wednesday.
