Six Baltimore County players have been selected to participate in the 3rd annual Maryland Crab Bowl all-star football contest. They are among 44 performers announced earlier this month by game organizers.
Dan McManus and Marquise Bannister from defending Class 2A state champ Eastern Tech were picked along with Frankin’s Navassa Brown, Catonsville’s Tyler Weedon, Vince DePaola of Hereford and Owings Mills linemen Donovan Smith. Smith, 6-foot-5 and 270 pounds, is the area’s top line recruit, holds more than a dozen scholarship offers including Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech.
The initial 44 performers were selected by the Maryland Football Coaches Association. The remainder of the roster will be selected next month. The game will take place Dec. 18 at Bowie State University.
