Two Howard County players have been selected to participate in the 3rd annual Maryland Crab Bowl all-star football contest. River Hill’s Brent Kluge and Colin Osborne are among 44 performers announced earlier this month by game organizers.

Osborne had 50 tackles, four interceptions and three forced fumbles last season as a defensive back for Glenelg, which reached the Class 2A state South Region playoffs. He also rushed for more than 700 yards and seven touchdowns.

A transfer from Hereford, Kluge was a major reason River Hill made another deep postseason run last fall. The 5-foot-10, 210-pounder rushed for 1,119 yards and nine touchdowns and led the Hawks with 103 tackles as a linebacker.

The initial 44 performers were selected by the Maryland Football Coaches Association. The remainder of the roster will be selected next month. The game will take place Dec. 18 at Bowie State University.
