After five successful years as head field hockey coach at Southern High School her alma mater, Lauren Leukhardt as joined the field hockey staff at Washington College in Chestertown, as an assistant to head coach Rachel Boyle.
Leukhardt’s brightest season came in 2007 when she started the season with just 13 players and went on to earn Coach of the Year honors from the Capital Gazette.
Leukhardt’s coaching experience also includes serving as the head coach of the MD United Indoor Field Hockey Club, co-coach of The Gaels Field Hockey Club at the 2010 Disney Showcase, and Co-Coach of Team Maryland at the 2007 and 2008 National Field Hockey Festivals.
Joining Leukhardt, who will be specializing in instructing the team’s goalkeepers, at Washington is one of her former players, freshman Stephanie Harryman.
