The snow was a friend of no one in the wrestling community over the past few days, canceling a number of Friday match-ups and forcing weekend tournaments to be reduced to just single-day contests on Saturday.
But that didn’t stop the competitive juices from flowing at Harford Technical High School, as teams from miles and miles away ventured to Harford County to take part in a very strong dual-meet tournament.
La Plata traveled more than 100 miles to make it to the weekend festivities, and went a perfect 5-0 before heading back down south.
Topping local MIAA teams in John Carroll and Archbishop Curley, La Plata also wrapped up wins over Wootton, Stephen Decatur and DeMatha.
DeMatha suffered just that one loss to La Plata, otherwise going perfect through the tournament with a 4-1 record, and Stephen Decatur finished the day 3-2, dropping to the two top teams.
In the battle of the locals, Curley and John Carroll each went 2-3, with host Harford Tech finishing 3-1.
