Franklin High’s Ben Kaestner (pictured left) and Yasmime Faieq from Carver A&T finished atop the field at the District VI qualifier Tuesday afternoon at Diamond Ridge in Woodlawn.

Kaestner shot 77 to lead the boys’ field. Pikesville’s Matt Oshrine finished a shot behind (78) with Mike Greenspan of Hereford taking third (81). Parkville’s Brandon Snyder finished fourth with an 84.

Faieq (93) was a shot better than Dulaney’s Shannon McKey (94) on the girls’ side. Towson’s Colleen Fagan finished third (96).

All seven golfers qualified for the state championship tournament, Oct. 25-27 at the University of Maryland. The Baltimore County championship takes place Oct. 12 at Fox Hollow in Cockeysville.
