John Carroll boys’ basketball squad got a career-best performance from Jarred Jones as the No. 7 Patriots pulled away from Franklin for a 71-46 decision Saturday afternoon. John Carroll improved to 12-0.
Jones had a career-high 39 points on 14-of-16 shooting and a perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line. He added 10 rebounds and seven steals. Malcolm McMillan added 13 points and three steals.
Ronald Scott handed out a career-high seven assists, setting table for others such as Kamau Stokes (10 points and three steals). The Harford County private school shot 51-percent from the field, and forced 28 Franklin turnovers.
The Patriots travel to Havre de Grace Monday for a non-league match with the defending UCBAC champs. Franklin (1-4) hosts Hereford Wednesday in a Baltimore County match.
