Bruins claim first place in Anne Arundel County; two sides will meet again in County title game
The Broadneck boys soccer team closed its regular season with an impressive home win over No. 6 Meade, Thursday night, dumping the Mustangs, 3-0, to finish first in the league standings.
The 14th-ranked Bruins (12-2, 10-1 AA County) got two goals from Mikey Johnson, both assisted by Sebastian Radovic, and an own goal to claim the victory.
Broadneck outshot Meade (11-2-1), which finished 9-1-1 in the league, 11-10, and the Bruins held a 5-4 edge in corners.
Meade’s Shae Steele made seven saves and Ethan Miller had one. Broadneck also used two keepers, with John Vaaler recording seven stops and Fred Hill make three.
The two squads can now focus on a rematch in the Anne Arundel County Championship Game, which take place at 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 23 at Chesapeake-AA High School.
