Behind strong offensive play, John Carroll managed a victory over visiting Mercy, 27-25, 25-11, 25-22 on Friday.
Nicole Wagner led the Patriots with eight kills and two aces. Jenny Hottle, Taylor Schafer and Elise Adamson all had six kills apiece. Setter Briana Lockhart again set the table with 27 assists.
John Carroll’s record improved to 11-4 overall and 9-0 in the IAAM B Conference. The Patriots have a two-game lead over Maryvale for the top spot in the league.
The Magic fell to 7-6, 4-5.
The Patriots will host Annapolis Area Christian on Monday followed by back-to-back, non-conference games at home against C. Milton Wright and Maryland School for the Deaf to finish the regular season.
