Junior Olivia DiFonso had a goal and an assist, and Jenna White, Leah Pace and Nicole Wojcik each scored a goal as John Carroll School posted a 4-0 decision over No. 6 C. Milton Wright in a non-league contest in Bel Air.
Wojcik opened the scoring at the 15-minute mark, volleying a soft chip off the leg of sophomore midfielder Meredith Haggerty, who attacked down the wing and beat two defenders before sending the cross. Seven minutes later, Pace received a through ball from DiFonso, then battled off a Mustang defender and put it into the back of the net.
DiFonso made it 3-0 with a penalty kick. White, a freshman attack received a ball around midfield, turned took on and beat a CMW defender down the right side and blasted a shot into the far corner.
The Patriots’ defense led by senior captain Erica Bodt, juniors Kiana Wright and Becky Hottle, sophomore Sophie Centi and freshman Kara Klages and Jenna Santoro kept the Mustangs attack under control. Gina Maiorana made three saves.
