John Carroll’s football had another solid rushing day, racking up 373 total yards on the ground at the Patriots rolled over host Severn, 27-7 on Friday.

Full back Kyle Miele rushed 21 times for 188 yards, giving him 996 on the year.  Ryan Kirby ran for 98 yards on 16 carries, including a 45 yard touchdown in the first quarter.

The Admirals’ Brian Bieman returned a fumble 60-yards for a touchdown, giving Severn a 7-0 lead early.

But Kirby’s long touchdown run started 27 unanswered points for John Carroll.  Kirby also went 5-for-11 for 85 yards.  Senior DJ Owens had four receptions for 70 yards, all in the first half.

The Patriots improve to 5-3 overall and 4-2 in the MIAA B Conference, while the Admirals dropped to 0-8 and 0-6 respectively.

The John Carroll defense pitched a shutout and forced four turnovers, including a 21-yard interception return from senior cornerback Nick Rodriquez.
