The MIAA A soccer championship game is set as No. 3 Gilman School and fifth-ranked McDonogh School earn semifinal victories Thursday afternoon.

Top-seed Gilman posted a 2-0 decision over Loyola Blakefield to punch its ticket to Championship Sunday. The Greyhounds (16-2-3 overall) completed a season-sweep of the Dons (9-9), who advanced to the semifinal round with a victory over No. 10 Calvert Hall College Tuesday.

After a late season slump, McDonogh continued its rebound with a 2-0 victory over second-seed and No. 6 Mount St. Joseph in Irvington. The Eagles (18-5-1) completed a season-sweep of the Gaels, who defeated McDonogh in the finals last year.

Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. at Spalding, it will be round three between Gilman and McDonogh for the A crown. The teams split their two regular season matches.
