It took two weeks and a day, but the No. 14 Hereford girls soccer team finally completed a 4-2 win over No. 9 Fallston.
Hereford led 2-1 on Sept. 22 when rain suspended play with 10 minutes remaining in the opening half. In between, the two teams met in a tournament at Marriotts Ridge where Fallston was a 3-1 winner. Thursday, however, when the suspeneded game resumed, the Bulls doubled their original advantage.
During the initial portion of the game, Fallston jumped out to a 1-0 lead, but sophomore Abby Noble tied the contest for Hereford, and then assisted on a score by Kelsey Mattola. Neither team scored during the remainder of the first half, once place was resumed, but Fallston forged a tie with a header off a corner kick in the second half.
The deadlock did not last long as as Noble put Hereford back on top and then assisted Morgan Oakley for an insurance goal, moments later.
