The North East Indians fell just short of the Aberdeen Eagles in UCBAC tennis, Thursday, as the Indians ended just one mate shy, 6-5.

North East won five of the six singles matches, seeing boys’ wins from Eddie Elburn and Alan Dorris, while the Indians went perfectly through the girls’ singles with Sienna Bass, Sarah Cook and Leah Corrado all pulling wins.

The rest of the meet was not so lucky for the Indians, however, as they were unable to win any of the doubes’ matches, and dropped a boys’ single match to the Eagles.

Aberdeen’s doubles were led by Victor Roman-Nieves and Lucas Spaeth, alongside Matt Wang and Gerard Celebrado, while Sam Miller and Erda Lang headlined the girls’ doubles with Deana Trimble and Marel Gaviala.

Nidhi Shah and Andy Montgomery earned the mixed doubles win for the Eagles, while Taylor Venparis was the only Aberdeen singes’ winner, claiming victory in two sets.
