Patterson Mill drops Fallston for fifth straight victory; Christian Shertzer fans five

Christian Shertzer pitched 5 2/3 innings of scoreless ball and Ethan Shertzer, Michael Hemelt, Evan Celuch and Michael Segreti each had a RBI as Patterson Mill defeated Fallston, 6-1, in an UCBAC Chesapeake baseball contest Wednesday in Harford County.

The Huskies (6-3 overall, 4-2 Chesapeake) broke open a scoreless game with two-out, five-run rally in the bottom of the fourth. Celuch got Patterson Mill’s first hit with a line drive single, scoring Jackson Wheeler.

Shertzer singled home Aiden Laurentius. With the bases loaded, Hemlet got an infield single to score Celuch and Ethan Shertzer came home when the throw skipped past the first basemen.

Christian Shertzer, who will play for Frostburg State University next spring, allowed four hits, struck out five and walked two. Hemelt pitched an inning before Segreti got an one-out save as Fallston (5-3, 3-3 Chesapeake) had the bases loaded.

Joe Gizinski went 3-for-4 for Fallston, which lost its third straight after a 5-0 start. The Cougars play at North Harford Friday afternoon while Patterson Mill hosts Bel Air,
