The Patterson Mil Huskies made quick work of the Edgewood Rams on the Diamond, Friday afternoon, posting a nine-run first inning before earning a slaughter rule in the fifth, 13-1.
Winning automatically when leading by 10 or more runs in any inning after the fifth, the slaughter rule could have gone into effect as early as the second inning, when Patterson Mill posted its 10th and 11th scores of the game, before posting runs in the third and fourth for the 12-run win.
Matt Colczewski started on the mound for the Huskies, pitching three innings and allowing just one walk, no hits and striking out five batters, followed by Devakar Sinah, throwing for two innings and allowing two hits and a run.
Jimmy Salamone led Patterson Mill at the place, going two-for-two with a double and two RBIs, while Tim Berger crushed a double in his two-for-three night and Aaron Childs went a perfect two-for-two while scoring two runs.
Patterson Mill will try and add another win when taking on Perryville, Monday, as Edgewood heads to Havre de Grace.
