Lions making playoff push; St. Paul’s leaps to No. 5

With the postseason in full swing, Howard High debuts in this week’s VSN’s Girls Lacrosse Top 20.
The Lions are in the Class 4A North Region Section I finals after eliminating then-No. 17 Catonsville in the section semifinals Friday. The Howard County squad will play Dulaney in a 4A Sweet 16 contest Monday afternoon at Perry Hall.
McDonogh School is No. 1 after reclaiming the IAAM A Conference title with a thrilling 5-4 double overtime victory over St. Paul’s School. The Gators, who took to the Eagles two double overtime classics this season, jumps seven places to No. 5 this week.
Glenelg is No. 2 followed by Severna Park and Marriotts Ridge. Glenelg and Marriotts Ridge play Monday in the 2A South Region Section I final.
