Fall basketball league starts Saturday at St. Frances
by Derek Toney
Though the 2020-21 area high school boys basketball season is starting late due to the COVID-19 pandemic, student athletes have been prepping through AAU and fall leagues.
One of the area’s main fall competitions, the Black Panther League, starts Saturday morning at St. Frances Academy. Sixteen teams will participate, including 13 local high school teams.
Mount Zion Prep, a local post-graduate school, and two local AAU teams (Sharks 15-under and 16-under), make up the remainder of the field.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, no fans will be allowed. Games will be streamed online via Haven Sports Network (play.webvideocore.net).
