Though the Baltimore metro area was spared the worst of a Christmas weekend snowstorm, several local squads are feeling the effect.
Archbishop Spalding boys’ will not participate in the Boardwalk Classic in Wildwood, N.J. The Cavaliers were to play to the Jersey Shore bracket Sunday and Monday. The tournament is postponed until Tuesday, and there’s no room to play the three games in the bracket along with the regularly scheduled remaining games.
The Millers Holiday girls’ basketball mixer at New Town, originally scheduled to start Monday, will start Tuesday. Three teams, Thomas Stone from Charles County, Kent County’s Kent Island and Elkton, are in areas still digging out from the storm that has dropped anywhere from 12 to 24 inches in parts of the mid-Atlantic/northeast corridor.
The Waldorf Holiday Classic in southern Maryland, featuring Southern boys’, Arundel and Meade girls’ was also postponed Monday. The tournament will commence Tuesday.
No. 2 City College’s game against Neshiamy (PA) at the Primetime Shootout in Hamilton, New Jersey Monday, has been postponed until Tuesday.
