After opening the season with four straight losses, including three by four points or less, the Hereford boys basketball team is celebrating its first trip to the win column after traveling to Loch Raven, Monday, and defeating the Raiders, 69-45.
Both teams played well in the opening quarter and Loch Raven finished the period with a 17-16 advantage. Hereford, however, dominated the next two quarters, outscoring the Raiders 30-13 over that span, before growing the lead even more in the final period.
Joey Jones led the Bulls (1-4) from the point, scoring a game-high 16 points and distributing five assists. Seniors Devon Young an Matt Boone helped carry the scoring load as they combined for 27 points.
Loch Raven (1-5) was led by senior guards Devin Jones and Tevin Dugger, who scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
