It was a big day for the Hereford cross country program on Saturday, as the Bulls took the boys and girls team titles at the Bobcat Invitational, hosted by Bel Air High School at Jerusalem Mill.

In the boys’s race Hereford’s Mason Rivera placed first in 15:58, followed by teammate Ben Bemmis (16:14).  Hereford had three other runners in the top 12 as Jon Luckin (6th, 16:47), Kevin Payne (7th, 16:47.50) and Gabe Maslen (12th, 16:56) rounded out Hereford’s low score of 28.

Alex Waldt (8th, 16:49) paced second place Archbishop Curley (102 points) and Jon Cook (16:55) placed 10th for the Friars.

Also in the top ten in the boys race were Tyler Muse of Bel Air (3rd, 16:24), Nick Pezza of Century (4th, 16:28), Scott Heydrick of River Hill (5th, 16:42) and Matt Hoerr of C. Milton Wright (9th, 16:51).

Maura Linde of Century (18:53) was the girls champion, finishing 26 seconds in front of North Harford’s Megan Schott, but again it was Hereford which took the team title.

Leading the Bulls were Ering Causey (3rd, 19:21), Lauren Kennedy (7th, 19:56) and Emily Van de Water (9th, 20:09), as they edged River Hill, 56-63, while Century was a close third with 67 points.

LeAnne Young, who placed four in 19:29, paced River Hill and Meghan Heneghan (20:00) placed eighth for the Hawks.

Also in the top ten were Emily Ruppel of Loch Raven (5th, 19:49), as well as Rachel Yep (6th, 19:52) and Paige Vane (10th, 20:10) of Mount Hebron.
