Severna Park and Howard to collide again for 4A state boys lacrosse crown; Glenelg runs past Hereford for 2A title shot

Howard High and Severna Park have combined for the last four boys’ lacrosse titles in the state’s largest classification. It will be five as both advanced to the Class 4A championship game with semifinal victories Saturday at Montgomery County’s Gaithersburg.

The No. 9 Falcons defeated Winston Churchill from Montgomery County, 12-4. University of Virginia commit Michael Harmeyer scored five goals and Connor Panebianco finished with three goals and two assists.

The Anne Arundel County champions led wire-to-wire, winning for the 66th time in 67 decisions against state public competition since the start of the 2016 campaign. The Falcons (18-1 overall) will try to claim a fourth straight championship Wednesday evening at 8 at Paint Branch in Montgomery County.

Severna Park won the 4A last season and back-to-back 4A/3A titles. The Falcons’ title run started against Howard in 2016.
