Four Gophers score two goals


Glen Burnie High girls lacrosse raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first half, cruising to an easy 14-3 win over Meade in its  season opener Friday in Anne Arundel County.

Megan Helinski had four goals to pace the Gopher offense, while Emiley Smith, Julia Dominguez, Alexandra Smith and Taylor Huber each contributed two goals. Angel’Lique Lockhart and Hope Castaneto scored a goal for the Gophers.

Glen Burnie dominated the draw, winning 14-of-17. Autumn Benson had four saves in the opening half, and in the second half, Madison Dietrich was in goal.

Sarah Ullery had two goals for Meade and Karla Cali added one.
