Outlook: The Cardinals face another non-league test before starting MIAA A Conference next weekend against upstart Mount St. Joseph. Calvert Hall (3-0 overall) got arguably its best victory of the young season winning at perennial D.C. power Dunbar, 21-6, last weekend.
C.J. Williams and Stephen Kelly each had rushing touchdowns, and Thomas Stuart connected with Trevor Williams for a 10-yard score. Stuart, a junior transfer from Good Counsel, has thrown four touchdown passes.
The Cardinals’ defense will match up with one of the area’s better quarterbacks in Darin Washington. The junior had an impressive debut against UCBAC rival Perryville last weekend, completing 13 of 17 for 224 yards and five touchdowns in a 35-7 victory, improving Havre de Grace to 2-0.
Washington connected with Monty Werts from 12 and 28 yards out. Deylin Lucas, Dayshawn Bolling and Travonn Bond are threats for the Warriors’ offense.
