Eagles post two 5-run innings to stop SJCP, 10-0, in five innings
Evan Haulik, a transfer from Riverdale Baptist, threw five shutout innings, giving up just one hit while striking out 10 and walking just two, in leading Annapolis Area Chrisitian to a 10-0 MIAA B Conference baseball win over St. John’s Catholic Prep.
AACS put up five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings.
Andrew Sowinski, Matt Sowinski, Sergei Veres, Austin Swartz, Will Henderson and Issac Miller lead the way at the plate. Veres was 2-for-3 with three RBI, while Andrew Sowinski hit his second home run in as many games, and his brother Matt Sowinski got his first extra-base hit of the year with a triple to center field.
In addition, the Eagles stole six bases with Derek Whaley swiping two and Isaiah Fox and Henderson getting their first of the year.
Annapolis Area (2-6 overall) is now 2-3 in the B Conference. SJCP is now 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the league.
