Nine run first inning propels the Cobras to a victory at Ripken Stadium
Harford Tech opened up its 2019 baseball season, Saturday evening with a 12-8 victory over Severn, at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen.
The Cobras fell behind 3-0 in the top of the first inning, but responded with nine runs in the bottom of the inning to burst on top.
The Cobras were led by Nate Reed, who went 3-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, and two RBI’s. In addition, Ryan Hunt and Jay Rose each went 2-for4. Hunt had two RBI’s, while Rose had a double, one RBI and two stolen bases.
Brennen Schneider also went 1-for-2 with three walks and a stolen base for the Cobras, while Parker McIlhenney was 1-for-3 with two walks and one RBI.
Peter Rozner had three RBI’s for Severn and Evan Gore went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Matthew Began, Brett Sweeney and Tommy Castleberry all had one RBI for the Admirals.
