Milford Mill High senior forward Tevin Hanner has given a verbal commitment to Loyola University, Millers coach Albert Holley told Varsity Sports Network Monday afternoon. Hanner selected the Greyhounds over Robert Morris.

Hanner, 6-foot-5, averaged 11.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks for the No. 3 Millers (25-2 overall), who won their second consecutive Class 3A state championship a couple of weeks ago at Comcast Center. He was the outstanding performer in the 3A Final Four with 31 points and 29 rebounds in two games as the Baltimore County school became the first program to win back-to-back 3A crowns in 25 years.

Hanner was co-player of the year in Baltimore County with teammate Isaiah McCray, who’s headed to Colgate. The Washington Avenue school won the Baltimore County crown for the third straight season, and its only losses in the 2010-11 campaign came against No. 2 Patterson, which reached the Class 4A title game and 4A state semifinalist Eleanor Roosevelt from Prince George’s County.

Hanner would join St. Frances Academy point guard R.J. Williams, the co-player of the year in Baltimore Catholic League, as incoming local players to the Cold Spring Lane campus. Hanner would also play alongside former Cardinal Gibbons standout Dylan Cormier, whose brother Chase, was a key reserve for Milford Mill this past season.
