Hammond’s boys basketball team jumped out to a 13-point halftime lead and went on to defeat Boys’ Latin, 63-40, in the first day of the Winters Mill Holiday Classic.
Senior point guard David Patrick netted a game-high 20 points, while sophomore guard added 12 points for the Golden Bears (4-5 overall).
Greg Pyke paced the Lakers (3-3) with nine points and Wells Stanwick and Mac Pons each contributed eight points.
