Danielle Burris scored 20 points, and Emily Russo added 17 as No. 7 Glenelg High defeated Long Reach, 66-34, in a Howard County girls’ basketball contest Wednesday evening. Mary Kittleman had 11 points for the Gladiators (9-1 overall, 8-0 Howard) who raced out to a 21-4 first quarter advantage.
Glenelg upped the lead to 52-20 after a 23-4 run in the third quarter. Alexis Briscoe led Long Reach (4-7, 2-6 Howard) with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Gladiators host Mount Hebron Friday in league action while Long Reach welcomes Oakland Mills.
