A much improved Boys’ Latin squad took on surging Glenelg Country, in a MIAA B Conference basketball game Friday in Roland Park, and the visiting Dragons proved to have too much fire power for the Lakers, as they raced to a 85-50 victory.

Four GCS players scored in double figures led by junior forward Isiah Miles, who netted a game-high 18 points.  Sophomore Warren Powers added 16 points, while Kevin Boyd and Tre Jordan combined for 23 more.

Glenelg Country established an 11-point half-time lead and expanded on it steadily over the final two quarters.  With the win, the Dragons moved to 4-0 in the B Conference, pulling even with idle St. Paul’s in the early battle for first place in the league.  The Dragons also improved to 5-1 overall.

Boys’ Latin, which was paced by 15 points from sophomore Mac Pons, fell to 1-2 in league play and 3-2 overall.
