Dragons win tight one at McDonogh, 47-44
In a contest that was razor close the entire way, visiting Glenelg Country School opened its 2021 MIAA A Conference basketball schedule with a 47-44 road win at McDonogh School, Wednesday night.
Locked in a 21-21 tie at the half, the Dragons got seven fourth quarter points from sophomore Franklin Ayissi-Etoh, who led the team with 16 points, as they turned back the Eagles. Ayissi-Etoh is as a transfer from Wootton High in Rockville.
Senior Austin Williams added 10 points for GCS, while freshman Xavier Pickett and sophomore Kamal Francis combined for 17 points.
McDonogh was paced by 15 points each from Dennis Sutton and Jared Billups.
