Glenelg Country dropped its opening field hockey game in the IAAM B Conference to Mount de Sales and then rolled off seven straight conference wins entering Tuesday’s rematch with the Sailors, in Ellicott City. When the two met again, the Dragons continued their winning ways with a 3-0 shutout victory.
Claire McAuliffe led GCS with two goals and Abby Franklin added the third as Glenelg Country improved to 9-4-0 overall and 8-1-0 in the league. Dragon goalie Sarah Bates stopped 13 shots to record the shutout, while Victoria Gottleib made seven saves for Mount de Sales.
Mount de Sales slipped to 8-3-2 overall and 6-2-1 in tightly packed B Conference.
