With huge games upcoming with No. 5 Loyola and top-ranked McDonogh, Gilman’s undefeated and second-ranked soccer team remained focused on the task at hand, Tuesday in Roland Park, as it routed visiting Archbishop Spalding, 5-1, in a MIAA A Conference soccer match.
Cotter Brown led the way for Gilman with three goals, as the Greyhounds improved to 8-0-3 overall and 4-0-1 in the A Conference, where they sit in second place. Spalding (4-7-2 overall) fell to 0-7 in the conference.
Joey Cahalan added a goal and an assist for head coach Jon Seal and Riley DeSmit also scored for Gilman.
Alex Critzos netted Spalding’s lone goal.
On Thursday, Gilman will travel to Loyola. Earlier the Greyhounds defeated the Dons, 2-0. Then, on Monday, Gilman will be at McDonogh for the first of two meetings with the Eagles this month.
