Don’t look now, but one of the hottest lacrosse teams in the MIAA A Conference is Gilman and the Greyhounds continued their recent surge on Tuesday with a 12-9 win over division leading St. Mary’s, in Annapolis.

The victory reversed a league-opening 11-7 loss to the Saints, back in late March, and gives the Hounds three wins in their last four league outings.  The only loss was an overtime setback at St. Paul’s, last week.  Gilman also has an overtime wins over Boys’ Latin and McDonogh during the streak.

Sophomore Max Greene led Gilman on Tuesday with four goals and captain Conor Doyle added four points with two goals and two assists.  The Greyhounds also received two goals and an assist from senior middie Justin George, while Gordie Koerber also scored twice.

Peter Senft and Tim Jenkins rounded out the scoring with one goals each.  Senft, Ryan Tucker and Jake Matthai all registered one assist.

Juniors Nate Lewnes and Michael Bonacci led St. Mary’s with three goals each, while KC Beard, Logan Connolly and John Kluh had one each.

St. Mary’s (9-3 overall) still leads the Red Division with a 6-3 record, but Gilman (6-4 overall) is now in second with a 4-3 mark.

On Thursday, Gilman travels to Archbishop Spalding, while St. Mary’s is off until next Tuesday, when it will host Loyola.
