Former Gilman School three-sport standout Drew Ehrlich, a junior defensive back at Washington & Jefferson College in Pennsylvania, was named 1st-team All-President’s Athletic Conference in football back, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Ehrlich, a 2016 Gilman grad and in his first season at W&J after starting his college football career at Villanova, recorded 15 tackles, including 2-1/2 for loss, with an interception, three pass breakups, a fumble recovery and three blocked punts during W&J’s four game spring season. Two of those blocked punts came in the PAC Championship game on April 23rd at Westminster College. Ehrlich also earned a spot on the Team of the Week on March 30th.

The biggest highlight came in the season opener when Ehrlich intercepted a pass at the Waynesburg (PA) 39-yard line and returned it to the end zone for a touchdown.

At Gilman, Ehrlich played football, basketball and baseball and earned 2nd-team All-Metro honors in football and baseball. Initially he played both football and baseball at Villanova, but returned to Annapolis in 2019 and played a season of baseball at Anne Arundel Community College, where he batted .302 in 30 games with two home runs and 19 RBI.
