No. 1 McDonogh and No. 2 Gilman remained undefeated in MIAA A Conference soccer play, as each came away with a victory on Thursday afternoon.  This sets up a heavyweight showdown on Monday when the two squads meet for the first time this season, at McDonogh.

The Eagles (13-1-0 overall) are now 7-0 in the league after completing a regular season sweep of defending champion Mount St. Joseph (7-3-1, 4-3-1) with a 3-0 win.  The Eagles outscored the Gaels 6-0 in the two games and have now outscored all opponents 48-4 for the season.  Regardless of what happens Monday, McDonogh will remain in first place with a minimum of 21 points.

Junior Mike Gamble scored twice to lead McDonogh.

Gilman kept pace with a 2-1 win over Loyola, at Blakefield.

Tanner Vosvick staked the Greyhounds (9-0-3, 5-0-2) to an early 1-0 lead and Jarred Sullivan scored the game winner in the second half.  Anthony Kim assisted on Sullivan’s goal, as he headed the ball across the box, where Sullivan was able head it into the goal.

With 23 minutes to play in the game, Jamie Dubyoski tied the game for the Dons (4-5-0, 3-4-0), with a blast off the post and into the net.
