Five Seton Keough players combined for 51 points as the Gators rolled past the Roland Park Country School, 58-26, in an IAAM A Conference quarterfinal playoff game in Southwest Baltimore on Tuesday night.

James Madison bound Achiri Ade led the way with 13 points, while Rianna Frazer had a dozen, including two fourth quarter threes.  Liz Brown, who will attend the University of Richmond in the fall had 10, and Camille Hines and “Stixz” Wislon each had eight.

The balanced attack, and tenacious second half defense, were the keys to the Keough win.  The Gators outscored the Reds 38-14 in the second half.

“We’ve been talking about that through the end of the season,” said Keough coach Jackie Boswell. “We want to make sure we’re sharing the ball. I thought we did a good job with that. We went to the basket one on one, and we kicked the ball out when they doubled us.”

Boswell said that the Gators were able to keep the Reds off the boards and out of the middle of the second half.

Liz BrownSeton Keough held a 20-12 lead at the half, but the offense kicked into gear in the third quarter, when the Gators mounted a 39-21 lead.

Ade had six points in the third quarter, and Frazer had eight in the fourth for the Gators.

Lauren Edwards and Daisy Alaeze each had 10 for the Reds.

Keough will now travel to second-seeded McDonogh, on Thursday, to battle of a spot in Saturday’s title game at Goucher College.
