With the announcements this week of several prized local recruits from the Class of 2011, the University of Maryland baseball team announced the complete list of recruits from the Class of 2010, an impressive group of 23 players.

The first class brought in by new head coach Erik Bakich, the group includes six players from the state of Maryland, including former Severna Park stars Kyle Convissar and Alex Ramsay.

Convissar and Ramsay led the Falcons to the 2010 Class 4A state title.

Convissar was the No. 1 ranked position player in the state last year. The shortstop batted .481 last spring and posted a .635 on-base percentage.  He also had eight home runs, 10 doubles, 31 RBI and 34 runs scored.

Ramsay, a catcher, was selected to play in the Under Armour All-America game at Wrigley Field in August and was rated the No. 2 prospect in Maryland.  Ramsay had a three-run homer in the 4A title game. He hit .362 with seven home runs and 22 RBI as a junior in 2009.
