The IAAM B Conference tennis season concluded Wednesday afternoon at McDonogh School with individual champions crowned in singles and doubles play.
In No. 1 singles, top-seed Cat Gordon from John Carroll swept Friends School’s and No. 2 seed Rachel Bolan, 6-0 and 6-0. In a matchup of the top two seeds, No. 1 Mary Collins from Friends posted a 6-4, 6-2 decision over Glenelg Country School’s Maddy Taylor.
The Quakers claimed the No. 1 doubles title with Courtney Anderson and Lilyanna Segelman outlasting St. Timothy’s Clara Cuccaro and Arielle Speert, 6-4 and 7-6. St. Tim’s top-seeded duo of Gladwin Gilman and Regan Lichtenberg ended the run of John Carroll’s Imani Love and Amanda Weeasooriya, 6-2, 2-6 and 6-3, for the No. 2 doubles crown. Love and Weeasooriya upended No. 2 seed Natalie Naor and Bonnie Salmeron from Friends in the semifinal round.
St. Timothy’s Iyabo Babatunde and Hannah Glick, the No. 2 seed, rallied for a 3-6, 6-4 and 6-1 victory over top-seed Annie George and Sydnee Lasky from Friends.
The A Conference finals take center stage for the final day action Thursday at McDonogh.
