Forward Jessica Van Dyke scored on a shot from 20 yards out in the first 10 minutes of the game, putting Friends up 1-0, with the assist coming from strike partner Laney Mathias, and host Friends would go on to defeat Dulaney, 3-1, in girls soccer on Tuesday.
Dulaney senior captain Kara Burke tied the game up five minutes later with a shot from 18 yards out and the teams remained tied through intermission.
In the second half, center midfielder Ella Cooper scored the game winner 15 minutes into the second stanza, with Mathias again providing the assist. Van Dyke then capped the scoring as she ran onto a 60 yard punt from keeper Stella Gordon-Zigel.
Freshman center back Eliza Harris kept the Friends defense together all game, shutting down Dulaney’s attacks, and freshman midfielder Abby Corkum possessed the ball well in the midfield. Van Dyke has now scored four goals in three games for the Quakers.
