Freshman Brianna Jacobs is making a strong early impression for No. 4 McDonogh, as she posted her second consecutive double-double, on Wednesday, to lead the Lady Eagles to a 56-30 win over host Mercy in the IAAM A Conference opener for both teams.

Jacobs had a team-high 13 points and gathered 10 rebounds in the victory.  Junior teammate Taylor Cummings also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 steals, while junior Tiersa Winder finished with 11 points.

Mercy’s sophomore guard Aubrey Wetzelberger led all scorers with 17 points, while sophomore Samantha Hruz scored eight points for the Magic.

McDonogh is now 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while Mercy fell to 0-3 overall and 0-1 in the league.
