After surviving its season opener Monday, Forest Park High’s boys’ basketball squad had a much easier time Tuesday, dispatching IBE, 57-15, in the final game of the Spark at the Park Mixer at Forest Park.
Sharrod Hargrove led all scorers with 17 points for the No. 13 Foresters (2-0 overall), and Anton Waters and DeAnthony McCormick each added 11. Jermaine Sharon had five points for IBE.
The Foresters opened a 19-point halftime advantage en route to their second win in as many nights. The Baltimore City school had a huge first half advantage against Roosevelt (D.C.) Monday evening, but had to battle down the stretch to emerge with a 61-60 decision.
Forest Park had a 12-4 advantage after the first quarter Tuesday before sputtering in the early stages of the second. A dunk by Waters followed by a Hargrove’s three-pointer helped a 13-2 run to end of the quarter.
Forest Park plays at No. 10 Lake Clifton Tuesday.
