St. Frances Academy baseball coach Brain Boles announced that five Panthers will be playing college baseball next season. The Panthers, who won the MIAA C Conference in 2009, and made a playoff run in the B conference this past spring were led by all five seniors.

Pitcher-catcher Devon Hill and second baseman Avon Coleman will attend the Baltimore City Community College, pitcher Jamil Dorsey, the class valedictorian, is headed to Virginia State University, first-baseman Kris Dixon will attend Theil College in Pennsylvania, and infielder Darrell “Boom” Anderson will attend the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore.

Anderson finished his high school career with 138 hits.

“I’m very proud of these guys and it’s a great feeling to know that they will continue their academic and athletic careers at the college level,” said Boles. “This was a very special group of young men, and I’m going to miss them.”
